Minister Sandhya Rani emphasises skill development at Job Mela

Visakhapatnam: In a significant move to boost employment, minister Gummidi Sandhya Rani inaugurated a job mela at Saluru Government Degree College in on Sunday. Organised by the AP Skill Development Corporation in collaboration with various companies, the event aimed to provide job opportunities for the youth.

The job mela saw participation from around 25 companies, offering 970 jobs with salaries ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹25,000. The event witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic youth.

Addressing the gathering, Rani highlighted the importance of skill development, stating, "Skill attracts jobs—where there is skill, there is a job." She reiterated the government’s commitment to creating 25 lakh jobs across all sectors. The minister also emphasised the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of providing high educational standards to ensure global competitiveness, ensuring that no one is deprived of education due to economic constraints.
“The Chief Minister’s initiatives, such as the Dokka Seethamma mid-day meal programme for junior college students, were praised for improving health, enrolment, and focus on studies. Additionally, web-based classes, introduced in collaboration with IIT Madras, have enhanced students’ skills,” said Rani
The minister urged the youth to avoid drug addiction, which she described as detrimental to personal and family life. She encouraged them to seize the numerous global opportunities and carve a successful path in life.
