Minister says CM will distribute 1 lakh houses in March

Kakinada:Housing minister K. Pardha Saradhi said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will distribute one lakh houses to the poor in NTR layouts throughout the state by March. “Our CM is committed to providing a house or house site to every poor person in the state,” he underlined.
The minister, along with Eluru district collector K. Vetri Selvi and Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishna (Chanti), inspected the NTR Gruha Layout at Ponangi and Komadavole on Tuesday. He asked the beneficiaries about their opinion on the layouts.
The beneficiaries requested Pardha Saradhi to provide basic amenities in the layouts, like drainage, drinking water and roads. The minister instructed officials to take up all these works immediately, so that keys of the houses could be handed over to the beneficiaries by March.
Pardha Saradhi warned officials and contractors that stringent action will be taken against them if any lapses are found in the constructions.
He pointed out that the loan amount for self-help groups will be increased to ₹1 lakh from ₹35,000. For SCs and STs, the amount for house construction will be increased to ₹75,000 from Rs.50,000.
The minister said beneficiaries who have been given plots should complete construction of their houses by December 2026.
