MLC, Madhuri appear at Tekkali police station

"We have recorded his statement and will investigate the matter further," said Tekkali police station inspector Vijay Kumar, who declined to reveal further details

Visakhapatnam: Duvvada Srinivas, the MLC from Srikakulam district, and his partner, Divvela Madhuri, appeared before the inspector at Tekkali police station in Srikakulam district on Friday and provided a written statement in response to a Section 41 notice served to him by the police.

"We have recorded his statement and will investigate the matter further," said Tekkali police station inspector Vijay Kumar, who declined to reveal further details.

The notice was issued following a complaint filed by Jana Sena leader T. Kiran Kumar, who alleged that the MLC made derogatory comments against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in the past.

The complaint was lodged on November 19. The state government has taken a serious view of the social media comments made by leaders against members of the ruling party.
