Thunderstorms likely today in many places

Visakhapatnam: The southwest monsoon covered the entire Andhra Pradesh by Monday, according to state disaster management authority managing director Prakhar Jain.
Forecasts said weather conditions across the state are likely to be marked by a combination of thunderstorms, rainfall and heat in some areas.
As per the weather bulletin, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram, Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Polavaram, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru and Nellore districts.
Light rain with thunderstorms is likely in the remaining coastal Andhra districts as well as Chittoor and Tirupati.
People have been advised to remain cautious as hot weather conditions may persist in some areas. Residents have been urged to protect themselves from hot winds while outdoors, and people suffering from heart ailments, diabetes, or blood pressure-related conditions are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
According to rainfall data recorded up to 5 pm on Monday, the highest rainfall was reported at Kannurupalem in Anakapalli district 4.5 cm, followed by Balijipeta in Parvathipuram Manyam district 4.5 cm, Venkannapalem in Anakapalli district 3.7 cm, Chilakalapalli in Manyam district 3.2 cm, Bobbili in Vizianagaram district 2.5 cm and Narsipatnam in Anakapalli district 2.4 cm.
