Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha member M. Bharat underlined the critical role individual persons play in bringing about a change in environment and society at large.
The MP was participating as chief guest at a tree plantation drive in Andhra University campus as part of its Green Initiative.
Bharat commended the efforts of Andhra University vice-chancellor Prof. G. Sasibhushan Rao for making the campus eco-friendly.
He called on students to lead healthy lifestyles, steering clear of intoxicating substances.
The MP criticised the previous government for politicising Andhra University. He reaffirmed the alliance government's commitment to restoring Andhra University to its former glory.
AU VC Sasibhushan Rao said not only should the campus be green, it must be free of ragging and drug abuse. He affirmed his continued efforts towards achieving these goals.
