MSMEs seeks state’s support to realise One Family-One Entrepreneur goal
The MSMEs from parts of AP are also appealing to the state government to address certain issues

Vijayawada: As the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu intends to promote the state-level motto of ‘One Family One Entrepreneur’ by 2030, the small and medium enterprises facing difficulties to run the existing units have come up with a wish list to realize the goal,
There exists a norm that an investment of Rs.1crore in micro and small sectors will help generate employment to 20-24 persons. There is more demand for providing financial support by getting Central grant and advising the bankers to extend loans to the youngsters who want to set up their own units.
Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are playing a crucial role especially in Tamil Nadu by setting up manufacturing units in different sectors and creating huge job potential. As a result, each township area has its own specialised sectors like Erode making of clothes, Salem for steel, Tiruvuru for T-shirts and so on.
The MSMEs from parts of AP are also appealing to the state government to address certain issues.
They want the land banks to be created even at the mandal level to be allotted to set up micro/small units and to develop infrastructure like power, water, roads and other requisites so that the youngsters will find interest to set up the units.
They call for strengthening the industry department and also the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and the District Industries Centres so that they will be more active to encourage those setting up such units.
Traditional sectors like automobiles, handlooms, electricals, electronics, textiles and others including the modern technology are open for setting up the units that will help the young generation become entrepreneurs and contribute their share for generation of employment and to the state’s economy.
National president of the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of India, APK Reddy, said, “We have vast human resources. If these youngsters are provided training in various sectors for a brief period, apart from their academics, and if they are given land, financial support and some incentives in a liberal and transparent manner, it will help realise our dream of having an entrepreneur in every home.”
The MSMEs say that several existing units are turning defunct for varied reasons, mainly due to lack of governmental support. They may also be revived to contribute to the cause of employment generation and economic development of the state, he said.
