Vijayawada: Borra Gopi Murthy, who won the Teachers' MLC by-election from the united East and West Godavari districts as an independent candidate supported by the Progressive Democratic Front (PDF), took the oath of office on Saturday.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the State Assembly building, where Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju administered the oath. After the ceremony, the Chairman congratulated Gopi Murthy and presented him with documents outlining the rules, regulations, and activities of the Legislative Council.
The event was attended by PDF MLCs KS Lakshman Rao and I Venkateswara Rao, Assembly Secretary General Suryadevara Prasanna Kumar, teachers, family members of the newly elected MLC, and Assembly staff.
