Naidu Asks Ministers Not to Discredit Image of Alliance Rule

Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu asked the ministers on Wednesday “not to damage the good name of the government and the ruling Telugu Desam” in any manner.

“Ministers should be careful and they should also guide the MLAs and leaders of their respective districts in this respect,” Naidu said in an informal interaction with the ministers at the fag end of the cabinet meeting at the Secretariat in Velagapudi.

Naidu said he would give a progress report to the ministers on their performance in the first 100 days. The report of the Jana Sena ministers will be handed over to deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, he said.

The chief minister expressed anger over the behaviour of some ministers and MLAs. “The government is getting a bad name because of the mistakes made by some people,” he said.

Regarding allegations of interference by family members of some ministers and legislators in governmental functioning, the CM said, “Ministers and MLAs are responsible for ensuring that no such interference took place.”

He went on to say, “Due to the mistakes made by one or two, the goodwill from all the good things the government did is lost.”

The CM was irritated that “important information about the government is being leaked.” For instance, the information in the white papers, details of vote-on-account etc were leaked, he said.

The issue of YSRC's shadow still hanging around some government departments was raised in the cabinet meeting. A cleansing is important in government departments, the ministers told the CM.
