Naidu confident of NDA’s win in AP

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday sounded confident of the three-party alliance’s win in the assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

Addressing the party candidates of the TD, JS and BJP through video conference from here, Naidu proposed a series of special steps they should take at the time of counting of votes on June 4, Tuesday.
Referring to the exit poll results, Naidu said he was happy that they hinted at the victory of NDA at both the Centre and in the state.
He said YSRC leaders and activists might resort to illegal activities and even unleash attacks at the time of counting centres. The counting agents of the three parties, he said, should be on high alert. Reach the counting centres early and work in accordance with the directions issued by the election authorities, he said.
Naidu exhorted the candidates to be on high alert from the time of bringing the EVMs from the strong rooms to the counting halls and up to the time of decoration of the results. “Come out of the counting halls only after getting the declaration form from the RO.”
BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said the exit polls projected NDA victory in 21 Lok Sabha seats and a vote share of 56 per cent for it in AP.
State BJP chief D Purandeswari said she has the apprehension that the YSR Congress would resort to violence and advised the party candidates to keep a legal team ready to face any such situation.
Jana Sena political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar also suggested the same to the candidates.
