Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu greeted the people on Monday to mark the Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival. In a statement, he said, “I beseech Lord Krishna from the core of my heart to bless your family with happiness, health and wealth. To worship Lord Krishna is like remembering our own responsibility and marching ahead. If one understands Krishna’s inspiring ideology from the right perspective, it will help us to achieve victory. I wish the Lord’s kindness and mercy to be on the state forever on the eve of Krishnaswami.”
In Hyderabad, businessman and Celkon managing director Y. Guruswamy Naidu donated Rs 26.25 lakh to Chief Minister Naidu towards serving free food at 100 Anna Canteens for a day, Aug. 31, to mark his birthday. The CM was at his residence in Hyderabad.
Naidu said a large number of people were coming forward with donations to Anna Canteens. He thanked the Celkon MD for the gesture. Anna Canteens, revived by the present government, provide food to the poor at a subsided price of `five per meal.
