Naidu instructs collectors to set up WhatsApp Governance Cells

Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to establish a dedicated “Mana Mitra WhatsApp Governance Cell” in district collectorates. He stated that the initiative aims to promote WhatsApp governance and ensure easy access to government services.

During a review meeting at the state secretariat on Real-Time Governance, the Chief Minister announced that the government will soon provide 500 services to the public. Inquiring about the progress of WhatsApp governance, Naidu instructed officials to take immediate measures to increase public awareness and utilization of the system.

He emphasised that district collectors must prioritize this initiative by setting up dedicated WhatsApp governance cells in their offices and closely monitoring implementation. He also called for the creation of a QR code to enhance public awareness of the system. The Chief Minister stressed the need to improve grievance redressal through WhatsApp governance and facilitate bill payments via the platform. He suggested raising awareness through village and ward secretariats and highlighted the importance of having at least one Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert in every household.

Additionally, Naidu underscored the role of technology in law and order supervision, advocating for drone patrolling alongside traditional police patrols. He also directed officials to equip all RTC buses with GPS systems to enable passengers to track their journeys and suggested exploring GPS tracking for pension distribution.

Expressing concern over the persistence of liquor belt shops, the Chief Minister urged strict action against their operators. He instructed officials to monitor liquor stores supplying these illegal shops and take stringent measures against violators.

Furthermore, Naidu reaffirmed his commitment to improving the free supply of sand to the public and urged officials to focus on streamlining the process.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, General Administration Department (GAD) Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) Secretaries P.S. Pradyumna, M. Ravichandra, and Rajamouli, Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) CEO K. Dinesh Kumar, and other officials.
