Naidu joins prayer ceremony to pay tributes to Vajpayee

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Delhi on Wednesday, marking the centenary of the deceased leader’s birth.

At a grand event marking the centenary year’s observations, several high-profile political leaders gathered at the Sadaiv Atal Memorial Park in Delhi. Among them were President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, BJP president JP Nadda, Union ministers and some chief ministers including Naidu.

Naidu wrote on his social media page, " It is due to Vajpayee’s foresight that India today competes with nations across the world and stands tall. Working alongside a leader who always put 'Nation First' is a memory that will remain with me forever. His unique way of thinking about the country, his suggestions for modernity and technology, and his proposals for reforms are experiences I will never forget."

Education minister Nara Lokesh said, “Vajpayee constantly strived for the country's progress. He made special efforts to ensure that the country achieved great progress in the fields of IT, telecom and communications. He changed the face of the country through the Golden Quadrilateral project. The Pokhran nuclear tests were done at his behest.”

Former CM and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Atal Behari Vajpayee was a revered polymath who guided India through critical times. On his 100th birth anniversary, we pay tributes to Vajpayee Ji, whose enduring legacy continues to inspire generations.”
