Naidu Launches CNG Initiatives, Green Energy Policy in AP

Anantapur: Sharing his views on the future of the energy sector in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrabadu Naidu has said, “Clean energy and green energy are the order of the day.”

"We recently announced the green energy policy through which we hope to attract ₹10,000 crore in investment and 7. 5 lakh of employment opportunities. Under the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision, we are working towards cost optimization of fuel for a cleaner and greener future. With this Andhra Pradesh will become a green energy hub in the future.”

The chief minister visited a residence in Tiruchanur in Tirupati district on Sunday and launched the AG&P Pratham - THINK Gas’ domestic PNG network in the state, by lighting up the kitchen stove.

While interacting with the residents, Naidu said,”Using natural gas is a game-changer for households, offering convenience, savings, and a cleaner alternative over traditional fuels.” He flagged off a CNG vehicle rally comprising auto-rickshaws, two wheelers and light commercial vehicles operating on CNG to increase awareness about CNG in Tirupati city.

In a significant boost to the domestic natural gas infrastructure in Chittoor & Nellore districts, the CM inaugurated a CNG Mother Station at Anupalli, Chittoor, and laid the foundation for an LCNG station in Nellore.

Both these are source points for natural gas distribution in the respective districts.

AG&P Pratham – THINK Gas took a major step in its infrastructure roll-out plan for the districts of Tirupati, Chittoor, Nellore, Annamayya, Anantapuram, Sri Satya Sai and YSR Kadapa in a mega event in Tirupati on Sunday.

The chief minister launched several transformative projects in the presence of BC Janardhan Reddy.

Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is the second-largest producer of natural gas in India, through the Krishna-Godavari Basin.

“The plans of AG&P Pratham-THINK Gas are to create 10,000 job opportunities and make an investment of ₹10,000 crore in AP in the next five years. I am assuring them of all possible support and cooperation,” Naidu said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with his family members, arrived in Naravari Palle on Sunday to celebrate Sankranti in his native village. While Naidu was already in Tirupati on an official visit, other family members, including Nara Lokesh, Nara Brahmani, and Devansh, arrived on an Indigo flight from Hyderabad.

Local leaders in the village gave a grand welcome to the family, who have been celebrating Sankranti there for several decades.
