Naidu presents Rs.25 Lakh cheque to cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy, promises house site

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has presented a cheque of Rs.25 lakh from the Andhra Cricket Association to cricket player K. Nitish Kumar Reddy and promised to allot him a house soon.

The association president and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Shivnath and ACA secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish were present when the cheque was given to the cricketer at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on Thursday.

Naidu said, “We will support and encourage international sportspersons from AP in every possible way. We will provide better facilities for them to help them excel.”

Earlier in the day, Sivanath and Satish felicitated Nitish Reddy at the former’s office here. Reddy, hailing from Visakhapatnam, spoke of his experience of playing in his debut test match for India against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The MPs also praised Nitish’s father, Mutyala Reddy, for his continuous support and encouragement in his son’s cricketing journey.

Sivanath said ACA would provide all necessary support to help Nitish further enhance his skills. The felicitation ceremony was attended by ACA vice president Venkatarama Prashanth, treasurer Dandamudi Srinivas and other dignitaries.
