Naidu Vows to Modernise Budameru Rivulet

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu continued his visits to the flood-hit areas here for the consecutive fifth day on Thursday, focusing on the Budameru area beyond the Eluru canal. Naidu travelled on a raft to cross Eluru canal to reach the other side. He promised all governmental help to the victims of Budameru floods.

In the morning, people from different parts of AP met Naidu at the NTR District collectorate and made donations to the CM Relief Fund. Following this, he went to Enikepadu. From there, he passed through the fields and crossed the Ryves and Eluru canals on a raft, acquainting himself with the Budameru flood-affected areas.

The CM did a review on the works of filling the pits and the breach caused to Budameru canal. Later, he viewed the water flow at Kesarapalli bridge.

Naidu said he had sanctioned funds for Budameru’s modernization and the works started during his last term, but the next government failed to complete the works. “I shall fill all the breaches to Budameru on a war footing and continue the rivulet modernization to save you all from inundation,” he said.

From there, the CM went to Madhuranagar and inspected the flooded area. He later toured Devinagar, Pusuputhota, Singh Nagar and the Government Press area.

Naidu interacted with the locals and listened to their complaints. He said the government started distribution of essentials and would provide all help to the victims.
