The MLA spoke at the inauguration of the programme in which municipal commissioner S. Ravindra Babu and Survey of India regional director for AP and Telangana B.C. Parida participated.

Kurnool: Panyam MLA Gowru Charitha Reddy on Tuesday underlined that central government's National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA) programme will extend permanent protection to both government and private lands in the city.
The MLA spoke at the inauguration of the programme in which municipal commissioner S. Ravindra Babu and Survey of India regional director for AP and Telangana B.C. Parida participated.
Representatives of the Survey of India and the Drone Flying Agency presented an overview of the programme.
Charitha Reddy said Naksha will permanently resolve long-standing land disputes in the state. Encroachment issues, especially in the Kallur Urban area, have been challenging. Many of these disputes remain unresolved in courts. The Naksha survey will ensure clarity on the matter, the MLA stated.
Commissioner Ravindra Babu explained that Naksha is part of the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme, aimed at providing a lasting solution to land disputes while preventing future conflicts. The survey will create a comprehensive digital database of land records, including photographs and boundary details, using advanced drone technology. Public objections will also be considered in the process.
Survey of India director Parida pointed out that aerial surveys will be used for accurate mapping, with verification involving participation of government and citizens. Digital records will not only assist in urban planning but also provide citizens easy access to their property details, Parida stated.
City planner Pradeep Kumar and Marvel Geospatial (Drone) Agency vice chairman K. Ravi Kumar attended the programme.
