Tirupati: Six people were killed in a stampede that occurred in Tirupati on Wednesday night. The deceased have been identified as Lavanya Swati (37) from Thatichetlapalem, Visakhapatnam; Shanti (35) from Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam; Rajani (47) from Maddelapalem, Visakhapatnam; Babu Naidu (51) from Ramachandrapuram, Narasaraopet; Malliga (50) from Salem, Tamil Nadu; and Nirmala (45) from Pollichi, Tamil Nadu.
Minister Satya Prasad has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh to the families of the deceased in the stampede.
