Nari Shakti Vijayotsavam Begins on a Grand Note on the Banks of the Krishna River

Vijayawada:The inaugural day of the three-day cultural programme, "Nari Shakti Vijayotsavam," commenced with grandeur on the banks of the Krishna River at Punnami Ghat, celebrating the spiritual empowerment of women on Friday.

Bhuvaneswari, wife of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, attended the event as the chief guest. In her address to the gathering, she extended Dasara festival greetings to Telugu people both within the state and abroad. She expressed gratitude to the Andhra Pradesh government for organizing the event, which reflects Telugu culture and traditions. Bhuvaneswari emphasized that the Dasara festival symbolizes women's power and greatness. She wished for the blessings of Kanaka Durga to always be bestowed upon the people of the state and described the program as a celebration of women's victories, power, and encouragement.

She noted the nation's pride in having a tribal woman, Droupadi Murmu, serving as President, and credited former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao for granting equal rights to women regarding family property and for implementing reservations in local bodies.

Minister for BC Welfare S. Savitha expressed her hope that all women would excel in every field, praising Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his efforts to manage the crisis caused by floods, including his stay at the Vijayawada Collectorate for over ten days. She also commended Bhuvaneswari, Minister for HRD Lokesh, and his wife Brahmani for their support of the Chief Minister.

Minister for Home Vangalapudi Anitha wished for the program to impart lessons on how to respect women to future generations.

Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh highlighted the qualities of women, such as motherhood, chivalry, and charity.

Bhuvaneswari also performed a ceremonial mark of Kumkum and vermillion on the foreheads of nine courageous women who faced the recent floods with resilience.
