Narrow Escape for MP Congress Chief As Truck Hits His Car

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress unit president and former minister Jitu Patwari had a narrow escape when the car in which he was travelling was hit from behind by a speeding truck in Sehore district in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
Mr Patwari was travelling from Indore to Bhopal in his car when the accident took place, police said.
The incident happened near the Phanda toll check gate.
The car had suffered extensive damage.
Mr Patwari and his staff later left for Bhopal in another car.
Mr Patwari, his staff accompanying him in the car and the driver were safe, police said.
The Congress has however taken the incident seriously and reiterated the demand for provision of adequate security to Mr Patwari.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Madhya Pradesh Congress’ official handle wrote, “A truck collided with the vehicle of state President Shri @jitupatwari near Phanda Toll on the Indore-Bhopal highway. The state president and his staff are safe”.
“The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has previously urged @BJP4MP government regarding the security of the PCC chief. We are once again drawing the government’s attention to the matter”, the party said.
Mr Patwari also took to X to update the situation, saying, “While travelling from Indore to Bhopal today, a truck hit my car from behind near Sehore, resulting in an accident. By God’s grace, my entire staff, the truck driver, and I are safe, and there has been no loss of life”.
