National Space Day Celebrated With Space-Themed Exhibition in Gudur

Tirupati: A space-themed photo exhibition was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication, field office, Nellore, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, on the occasion of National Space Day in Duvvuru Ramanamma Women’s College, Gudur, on Friday.

Gudur MLA Pasim Sunil Kumar, who inaugurated the exhibition, has expressed his desire for the younger generation to progress well in their education by embracing science and technology. Addressing the gathering, the legislator stated that it was delightful that the Indian government had chosen Gudur in Andhra Pradesh to host the event as part of the nationwide celebration of Space Day. He encouraged the youth to get enlightened and work against superstitions and social malpractices that still persist in some parts of society.

Speaking at the event, former Isro scientist Viswanath Sharma highlighted India’s progress in the space sector. He noted that India has evolved from a country that once relied on foreign cooperation for space missions to the one that now provides assistance to other nations. Sharma urged youth to take advantage of the vast opportunities in the space industry.

Paravasthu Nagasai Suri, the field publicity officer to the Government of India, has expressed joy that August 23, the day of Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing, has been declared as National Space Day. He mentioned that it was particularly significant to hold the first event at the historic Duvvuru Ramanamma Women’s College in Gudur.

MLA Sunil distributed prizes to students who won various competitions held as part of the National Space Day celebrations. On behalf of the state government, Viswanath Sharma was honoured.
