Nava Samaja Nirmanam initiative launched in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam city police have launched a Nava Samaja Nirmanam programme that deals with critical social issues, including narcotics, cybercrimes and crimes against women.

Designed by Visakhapatnam police commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi, the inaugural programme saw participation of over 2,000 students. Those present included Andhra University vice chancellor Rajasekhar and university staff members.

The programme, the first of its kind initiative in Andhra Pradesh, is aimed at raising awareness among students about drugs, cybercrimes and crimes against women, and providing practical guidance to the student community in dealing with the issue.

The event concluded with a ceremony, wherein students who excelled in essay writing competitions on various relevant topics received awards.
