Naval Science Lab’s Role Crucial for Navy: Vice Admiral Pendharkar
Visakhapatnam: Flag Officer, commanding-in-chief of Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, has said the entire nation is pinning a lot of hopes on Naval Science and Technological Laboratory.
Speaking as chief guest at the 55th lab Raising Day on Tuesday, the vice admiral said the responsibility of NSTL has increased as its products are prominently placed in the indigenous list. NSTL has been closely coordinating with the Indian Navy for timely completion of projects.
“NSTL has become a reliable partner of the Indian Navy with hard work, dedication and tireless efforts,” he said.
Scientists G Palakshi and Dr HN Das explained the activities taken up in connection with Lab Raising Day and its social service activities. Dr N Ranjana explained how DRDO was taking steps towards realizing Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047 in coordination with DRDO, academic community and industry. “Professors of various IITs are continuously kept in touch with a lot of insights into the technologies,” she said.
Dr Abraham Varughese, director of NSTL, said. “With our world-class testing facility, we are putting in our best efforts to meet the requirements of the Indian Navy.”
Scientist Dr Y Sreenivas Rao stressed the role of NSTL in mentoring industries to produce world-class products.
