NCC Cadets Experience Naval Life During 5-day Maritime Training

Visakhapatnam: A group of 100 NCC cadets from four states completed a five-day maritime training programme with the Indian Navy's Sunrise Fleet under Headquarters Eastern Naval Command (HQENC).

The cadets were attached to five naval vessels—INS Delhi, Ranvir, Satpura, Kadmatt, and Kavaratti—where they received hands-on training in firefighting, damage control, weapons handling, and seamanship skills. The programme concluded with the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet sharing insights on India's maritime heritage and his own journey as an NCC cadet.

Foundation stone laid for road development in Makavarapalem Mandal

Visakhapatnam: Speaker Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu laid the foundation stone for a road project in Makavarapalem Mandal, Anakapalli district. Funded by NABARD with an allocation of ₹1.8 crore, the project aims to boost connectivity and economic growth.

The speaker highlighted the Central government’s support and criticised the previous administration’s fiscal mismanagement. He urged residents to back development initiatives, noting that improved roads would enhance land value and economic opportunities. Plans to allocate ₹10 lakhs for cemetery development in each village were also announced.

Adani Port opens crew lobby

Visakhapatnam: Adani Gangavaram Port inaugurated a new railway crew lobby equipped with a modern Crew Management System (CMS) at its R&D yard on Tuesday. Manoj Kumar Sahoo, DRM of Waltair Division, East Coast Railway, inaugurated the facility alongside senior officials.

The state-of-the-art lobby includes a Crew Controller Office and well-equipped restrooms for male and female railway staff. This initiative is expected to improve cargo handling, storage, and dispatch efficiency at the port.
