NDA MP, MLAs Insist on Judicial Probe against Ex-AU VC
Visakhapatnam: An MP and MLAs of the NDA alliance government in AP visited Andhra University on Saturday. Subsequent to their visit, they jointly addressed a press conference at AU, demanding a judicial inquiry against the former university vice chancellor P.V.G.D. Prasada Reddy.
The ruling parties’ MP and legislators held Prasada Reddy responsible for Andhra University losing its reputation. They likened the institution to a sacred temple that had been converted into a centre of YSRC politics.
Speaking to reporters, Anakapalle MP C.M. Ramesh and MLAs Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu and Vamsikrishna Srinivas presented a united front, saying that they will ensure that the former AU vice chancellor faces a judicial inquiry. They requested AP Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, as chancellor, to order an inquiry and take appropriate action against Prasada Reddy.
The ruling alliance MP and MLAs charged Prasada Reddy with conducting disruptive activities, implementing partisan directives, and transforming the university into a YSRC stronghold. They made it clear that there will be no leniency shown towards anyone involved with the former AU VC.
During the press conference, MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao raised concerns over Prasada Reddy giving PG degrees to members of the YSRC party. MP C.M. Ramesh accused the ex-VC of disallowing access to AU citing security reasons and harassing staff and students.
The MP and legislators said under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu and education minister Nara Lokesh, Andhra University will regain its past glory.
