New industrial clusters coming up in AP: Minister Bharath

The minister maintained that many industries are eager to invest in the state

Kurnool: Industries minister T.G. Bharath announced plans to develop new industrial clusters in Kuppam and Lepakshi in Sathyasai district, Moolapet in Srikakulam district, and Donakonda in Prakasam district.

“In addition, the Chittoor cluster is set to receive an investment of ₹1,350 crore in the coming year,” Bharat said after hoisting the national flag on occasion of the Independence Day in Kurnool on Thursday.

He declared that the government's vision is to ensure rapid industrial progress over the next five years. In this regard, he said the government will roll out a new industrial policy, MSME policy, food processing policy and industrial cluster policy, which would be the best in the country.

The minister maintained that many industries are eager to invest in the state. He said a business-friendly industrial approach will be put in place within the next 100 days to attract large-scale investments, crucial for setting up industries and providing employment opportunities in the state.

Bharath pointed out that BPCL plans to invest ₹75,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh. VinFast has expressed interest in establishing a battery industry in Krishnapatnam. He underlined the ongoing improvements going on at the Orvakal Airport, including runway extension, night landing capabilities and initiation of flight services between Vijayawada and Kurnool.

MLC Dr. A. Madhusudan, district collector P. Ranjit Basha, MP Bastipati Nagaraju, zilla parishad chairman Y. Papireddy and SP G. Bindu Madhav were among those who participated in the celebrations.

In a related event, Lokayukta Justice P. Lakshman Reddy paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, unfurled the national flag, and received a guard of honour from police. Upa Lokayukta P. Rajini and registrar T. Venkateswara Reddy were among those present.

During his address after unfurling the national flag, P. Hanumantha Reddy, in-charge secretary and CEO of the Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission, emphasised on the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by various people during India's freedom struggle.
