New Kakinada–Mysuru Train Service Launched

The train departs Kakinada at 9 am and is scheduled to reach Mysuru at 4 pm the following day: Reports

KAKINADA: Kakinada Lok Sabha member T. Uday Srinivas on Friday flagged off the new Kakinada–Mysuru rail service (17289) at Kakinada railway station.

The train departs Kakinada at 9 am and is scheduled to reach Mysuru at 4 pm the following day, passing through Rajamahendravaram, Tanuku, Bhimavaram, Gudivada and Vijayawada.

Uday Srinivas said the direct rail link to Mysuru fulfils a long-pending demand of people in Kakinada district. He said the service would benefit businesspersons, employees, students and pilgrims, and contribute to the growth of trade, education and tourism.

He said he had submitted representations to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and thanked him for sanctioning the service.

Godavari districts railway passengers Association president Gatti Satyanarayana and general secretary D.N. Ramesh also thanked the MP, the railway minister and officials for introducing the train soon after the association submitted its representation.
