Kakinada: West Godavari district collector C. Nagarani directed National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials to expedite completion of road development projects in the district.
Nagarani reviewed progress on NH 165 and NH 216 projects during a meeting with NHAI officials in Bhimavaram on Friday. She emphasised the importance of the 104-kilometer NH 165 stretch from Pamarru to Digamarru via Akividu. While construction is underway between Pamarru and Akividu (64 kilometers), Nagarani stressed the need to initiate work on the remaining 17 kilometers (Akividu to Bhimavaram).
Regarding the NH 216 project (Kathipudi to Ongole via Narsapuram), Nagarani highlighted concerns about seepage issues near Kalipatnam village in Mogalturu mandal. While NHAI officials attributed the seepage to water originating from nearby residential areas, the collector directed them to conduct awareness meetings with residents to find solutions.District joint collector C.V. Praveen Adhithya, district revenue officer J. Udaya Bhaskara Rao, R&B SE R. Satyanarayana, and other officials were present at the meeting.
