No transfer for government employees nearing before April
VIJAYAWADA: State government employees retiring on or before March 31, 2025, shall not be transferred except in the public interest. This was among the guidelines issued by the government here.
Principal secretary Peeyush Kumar issued GO Ms 76, with the aim of “promoting work-life balance, while ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to the citizens.”
The new government has opened the process of regular transfers of employees in AP from August 19 to 31. Transfers are done to all departments except the Excise. Guidelines for this have been released.
The government, it is said, responded positively to employee unions’ plea to exclude the employees on verge of retirement from transfers. Amaravati JAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said the present order would benefit 8,000 employees. He said such exemptions had been given in the past.
