One dead, another injured at Pawan Kalyan's birthday fete

Tirupati: A birthday celebration for Jana Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan turned into a tragedy in Anupalli village, Ramachandrapuram mandal, Chandragiri constituency, when two supporters were electrocuted while setting up flex banners. The incident, which occurred on Monday evening, resulted in the death of one supporter and left another injured.

Reports indicate that the accident happened as the supporters were tying flexi boards. Strong winds caused one of the boards to sway into overhead electrical wires. B. Gopi, one of the supporters, tragically lost his life, while another supporter, B. Madhu, was injured and taken to S.V.R. Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati for treatment.

The mishap occurred amidst elaborate preparations for Pawan Kalyan's birthday celebrations, which included plans for a large cake-cutting ceremony.

Tirupati Jana Sena MLA Arani Srinivasulu and Chandragiri TD MLA Pulivarthi Nani visited the injured supporter at Ruia Hospital and consoled the family of the deceased. MLA Arani announced financial assistance of `1 lakh to the bereaved family and instructed hospital staff to provide the best possible care to the injured supporter.

MLA Arani also confirmed that Pawan Kalyan has been informed about the incident and assured that the Jana Sena leader would extend support to the affected workers.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan expressed deep sorrow over the incident, stating, "I am deeply saddened by the death of Gopi and the injury to Madhu. I pray for peace to Gopi's soul and offer my heartfelt condolences to his family”.

The Jana Sena chief announced financial support of Rs 5 lakh for Gopi's family and Rs 50,000 for Madhu's medical expenses, assuring that the party will stand by them.
