One Student Drowns, Another Missing at Amaravati Branch Canal in Sattenapalli

Vijayawada: One student drowned, and another went missing at the Amaravati Branch Canal after they ventured into the water to bathe on Sunday in Sattenapalli.

According to reports, five Class IX students from Raghavendra Bala Kuteer in Sattenapalli entered the Amaravati Branch Canal. While three students were rescued by locals, two others, identified as Gopichand and Charan, went missing.

Upon receiving the information, Sattenapalli police, along with NDRF teams, launched search operations. They recovered one body, and efforts are underway to locate the second missing boy’s body from the canal. A case has been registered, and an investigation is ongoing.
