Kurnool: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday arrested KS Srinivasa Prasad, Deputy Commercial Tax Officer at the Ongole commercial tax office, for accepting a bribe. The accused had demanded Rs 1.50 lakh from a local trader, C.H. Sridhar, in exchange for waiving a fine imposed on him.
Following a complaint from the trader, ACB officials conducted a raid. Ongole ACB DSP P. Ramachandra Rao caught Srinivasa Prasad red-handed while accepting the bribe in his office. The officials recovered Rs 1.50 lakh in cash from the accused. DSP Ramachandra Rao was accompanied by Circle Inspector Seshu, Sub-Inspectors JBN Prasad and Shaik Mastan Sharif, along with other staff during the operation.
