Ongole MP Srinivasulu Reddy Urges Speedy Execution of Development Projects

Kurnool: Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy has requested Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and submitted a representation for various development projects, including an airport near Ongole, a music and dance college in Ongole and development of Kambham Cheruvu in Giddalur constituency. He also proposed naming the eight hills in the lake after prominent poets of Krishnadevaraya era.

The MP thanked the Chief Minister and Union civil aviation minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu for approving the airport near Ongole. On January 22, a central team, along with experts and officials, has inspected 657 acres of land between Allur and Alur in Prakasam. They found that an additional Rs 115 crore would be needed for the remaining land. The MP has urged the Union civil aviation minister and officials to expedite the process for airport works.

He explained Ongole’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, noting that two of the famous Carnatic music trinity, Thyagarajaswamy and Shyama Sastry, were from Prakasam district and sought establishment of a music and dance college in Ongole to provide quality training to students and artists.

He sought support in development of Kambham Cheruvu, which spans 6,944 acres across 19 villages in Kambham and Besthavaripet mandals, near the Gundlakamma and Jampaleru rivers. He also sought Rs 9.58 crore for its development and requested that the eight small hills in the lake be named after poets Allasani Peddana, Nandi Thimmana, Madayagari Mallanna, Dhoorjati, Pingali Surana, Ramarajabhushanudu and Tenali Ramakrishna.
