Bishop Telagathoti Joseph Raja Rao of the Vijayawada Catholic Diocese stated that Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem to fulfill His mission of salvation. Marking Palm Sunday, also known as Manikommala Sunday, a solemn mass was celebrated at St Paul’s Cathedral under the guidance of Monsignor and Cathedral Rector Rev Father Muvvala Prasad.

The Bishop reminded the faithful that on this day, people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus as their king and lord. He encouraged everyone to become participants in Christ's resurrection. Recalling the significance of Palm Sunday, he said the day commemorates the joyous welcome Jesus received before his crucifixion during the Holy Week.
