Vijayawada:Several members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the union ministry of Jal Shakti will visit Polavaram irrigation project site on Saturday and review the progress of works at Polavaram in Eluru district.
The TD-led NDA government wants to expedite the project works and complete the project ahead of schedule. It is expected to start the construction of a new diaphragm wall shortly.
In keeping with the urgency, members of the standing committee will review the progress of works with officials of the water resources department as well as those of the contract agencies executing the project works.
