Parvathipuram district hospital faces challenges despite upgrade

In a statement released on Monday, Medical Superintendent Dr. B. Vagdevi highlighted the issues, emphasizing that despite the upgrade, the hospital's capacity to serve patients remain compromised.

This comes in response to a report in an article published, discussing the hospital's operational challenges. The Superintendent noted that although the upgrade was a significant step forward for healthcare in the region, incomplete construction work has hindered the hospital's ability to function at full capacity. "We have brought this matter to the attention of higher authorities several times," she stated, underscoring the urgency of addressing these infrastructural shortcomings.

In a related development, Dr. B. Srinivasa Rao, Medical superintendent of the Sitampet Area Hospital echoed similar concerns regarding his facility. He pointed out that while Sitampet was also upgraded to a 100-bed area hospital, the necessary infrastructure to accommodate these beds is still lacking. He explained that construction work funded by NABARD has not yet been completed, leaving the hospital without adequate facilities.
