Pawan Vows To Strengthen Panchayat Raj in AP
Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has vowed to strengthen the panchayat raj system by regular holding of gram sabhas in all the 13,326 gram panchayats and passing resolutions for urgent follow up actions.
Taking part in the collectors’ conference at the state Secretariat on Monday, the deputy CM stated that the solid waste management system was being implemented in the villages. Alongside, he launched the liquid waste management system as a pilot project in his assembly segment of Pithapuram.
He said AP aimed to supply potable water to 5.4 crore houses under the Jal Jeevan Mission the current fiscal. “We would also lay new roads and carry out repair works to the damaged roads for a distance of 4,721km.”
As for the forests, Pawan Kalyan said 29.23 per cent of the total 37,400 sq-km in the state was notified while 10,221sq-km of green corridor was also existing. He called for afforestation in gram panchayat lands etc. “As there is a lack of forest areas in districts like Guntur, Kurnool and West Godavari, we must promote social forestry there,” he said.
The Dy CM called for the support of all for developing a Vikasit Andhra Pradesh. “Even though the Indian Constitution is good, if there is none to implement it. The system might not work properly,” he said.
He called for the support of IAS and IPS officers to realize the target to make India a superpower in 2047 and turn the state into a Viksit AP.
