Pithapuram hospital upgraded from 30 to 100 beds
Kakinada:Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, as part of his election promise, has succeeded in upgrading the 30-bed Community Health Centre (CHC) at Pithapuram in Kakinada district to a 100-bed Area Hospital.
The state government has issued GO No.156 upgrading the CHC to 100-bed hospital at an expenditure of ₹38.32 crore, along with creation of 66 additional posts. As per the GO, the government will fill up 13 posts by promotion, seven posts by direct recruitment and 21 posts will be contractual.
Many patients arrive at the Pithapuram CHC for treatment. But due to lack of medical officers and staff, some patients end up going to private hospitals. However, with the CHC now upgraded to Area Hospital and additional staff allotted, it will turn out to be a big help for patients.
