VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) and Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) organised a discussion on "Enhancing Domestic Cruise Tourism in Visakhapatnam."
VPA chairperson Madhaiyaan Angamuthu and Durgesh Kumar Dubey of IRTS chaired the meeting in which representatives of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum, AP Chamber of Commerce, Tours and Travels Association of Andhra, and Federation of Hotels Association of Andhra participated.
Industry leader K. Vijay Mohan, along with other members, provided valuable insights for developing a comprehensive plan to boost cruise tourism in Visakhapatnam.
Stakeholders wanted a dialogue to be initiated with leading cruise lines, including Cordelia, Royal Caribbean, Costa, MSC Cruises, Cunard, Norwegian, Silverseas, Celebrity, Holland America, and Resort World Cruises.
They said these companies could be persuaded to add Visakhapatnam into their current itineraries or consider the city while relocating cruises between Asia and Europe.
