Police dog retires after 9.5 years of service
Teena, a Labrador Retriever police dog, retired from her post in Nandyal district on Tuesday after serving in the joint district police department for 9 years and 7 months.
Her specialty was detecting explosives in premises during VIP and VVIP visits. District SP K. Raghuveer Reddy felicitated Teena with garlands and a shawl.
He noted her service during many important events, including Maha Sivaratri and Ugadi Brahmotsavam in Srisailam, Brahmotsavam in Tirupati, and the Chief Minister's visits to Kurnool and Nandyal districts.
Teena also served during the Prime Minister's visits to Tirupati and Vijayawada and assisted in various case investigations, he added. Her handler, Armed Reserve constable Y. Sunki Reddy, was also felicitated at the retirement ceremony.
