KADAPA: Kadapa police undertook a flag march in Almaspet circle area of the city on Sunday in the wake of stone pelting between two groups in which a few police personnel had been injured.

Kurnool Range DIG Dr. Koya Praveen, along with Kadapa district SP Shelke Nachiket, inspected the site of the incident, where police have been deployed as a precautionary measure.

Speaking to media, the DIG said several persons involved in the stone pelting have been taken into custody, while others are absconding. He maintained that those violating law and order will not be spared.

Koya Praveen said India has the rich tradition of unity in diversity. Just as Hindus hold deep faith in their beliefs, Muslims too have high regard towards their religion. He said in case there are any disputes, they must be resolved amicably without taking law into their own hands.

The DIG said they are counselling both groups and will ensure that communal harmony is maintained. He pointed out that Section 144 is in force and no rallies or gatherings of more than four persons are permitted.
