Political Cases Against TD Activists to Be Withdrawn, Says New Party Chief

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao took over on Friday as the new president of the Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh.

The event was held at the party’s central office, NTR Bhavan, Mangalagiri in the presence of Minister Nara Lokesh. Lokesh claimed that the selection of Srinivasa Rao as the party chief signified the “importance” the party accords to the BCs.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Srinivasa Rao who took charge as TD AP President and hoped the party would achieve many more successes under his leadership.

Srinivasa Rao said that he would uphold the trust and responsibility bestowed on him and that he would be “coordinating the affairs of the party and the government.”

The party chief promised the rank and file that “politically motivated cases against the party activists, initiated during the YSRC term, would be quashed within three months. “Get me those details, and I shall follow up on these,” he told those facing such cases.
