AP: Municipal polls to elect chairpersons, vice chairpersons, deputy mayors today

All is set for Monday’s elections in seven municipalities, nagar panchayats and three municipal corporations in Andhra Pradesh to fill posts of chairpersons, vice chairpersons and deputy mayors.

Vijayawada: All is set for Monday’s elections in seven municipalities, nagar panchayats and three municipal corporations in Andhra Pradesh to fill posts of chairpersons, vice chairpersons and deputy mayors.
The election would take place at 11 am, based on a notification issued by the State Election Commission to fill up casual vacancies. Arrangements were made for the polling in Guntur Municipal Corporation, officials here said.
The election are to be held in the municipalities / nagar panchayats of Nandigama (NTR), Hindupur (Sri Satya Sai), Palakonda (Parvathipuram Manyam) for chairperson post; Buchireddypalem (SPSR Nellore) for both the posts of vice-chairpersons; as also for Nuzvid (Eluru), Tuni (Kakinada) and Piduguralla (Palnadu) for vice chairperson.
SEC Nilam Sawhney directed the collectors and district election authorities to supervise the elections.
District collector or joint collector of Tirupati, Nellore and Eluru made arrangements for the polls of deputy mayors 11am. For Eluru municipal corporation, the election will be held for two posts of deputy mayors.
