Prepare seniority lists for teachers: Lokesh
Attempt to avoid complaints on teacher transfers in AP

Vijayawada:Education Minister Nara Lokesh has asked officials to prepare seniority lists for teachers so as to avoid complaints on teacher transfers.
Lokesh conducted a review meeting on schools, colleges and higher education on Tuesday. He asked officials to organise a workshop with public representatives to gather advice and suggestions on a system that can be an alternative to GO 117.
The meeting included discussions on preparations for the upcoming DSC examinations.
Discussions were also held on a plea for an increase in salaries for the guest faculty in junior colleges. Officials informed the minister that a new syllabus would be introduced for the first year of intermediate education starting from the next academic year.
Lokesh asked the officials to initiate the process of junior lecturers before the start of the academic year.
The minister said he will also review the conduct of the 10th grade and intermediate public examinations with the chief secretary and collectors through a video conference on Feb 20.
A discussion was held on the issues arising from the GO 42, which led to the closure of 80 aided colleges. The minister criticised the previous government for releasing this order, and said the number of colleges thus decreased from 137 to 57. He alleged that there was a conspiracy to seize the assets of aided colleges.
Lokesh asked the officials to formulate policies to compensate for the losses incurred due to GO 42 while addressing the issues faced by aided teachers, keeping the future of students in mind.
School Education Secretary Kona Shashidhar, director Vijay Rama Rao, Intermediate education director Kritika Shukla, Samagra Shiksha SPD Srinivasa Rao and AP Skill Development Corporation MD Ganesh Kumar were among those present.
