Protests by 104 MMU Staff in AP Over Unpaid Benefits and Job Security
Vijayawada: Employees of the 104 Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) service staged protests at district collectorates across Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, demanding several key reforms. The workers are calling for the state government to take over the MMU service from Aurobindo Emergency Management Services, claiming it would save costs and improve healthcare delivery.
The protestors also raised concerns over unpaid provident fund (PF) and employee state insurance (ESI) contributions, as well as demanding a 10% wage increment every three years as per their agreement.
Around 1,980 workers, including drivers and data entry operators, have been protesting since November 1 and have vowed to continue their agitation until their demands are met.
AP 104 MMU Employees Union President V.R. Phani Kumar emphasized the need for job security and better service conditions, stating that the workers would not back down until their issues are resolved.
