Provisional Liquor Licence Extended in Andhra Pradesh Until Oct 31
Vijayawada: The prohibition and excise authorities have extended the validity of the provisional licence from October 22 to October 31.
In a communiqué issued on Wednesday, Prohibition and Excise Director Nishant Kumar stated that the provisional licence was granted to selected applicants upon payment of one-sixth of the annual retail excise tax, as per Rule 15, with effect from October 16, at a location compliant with Rule 24. The licence was issued with the condition that all requirements under Rule 15, Rule 18, and other applicable provisions of the AP Excise Rules, 2024, were fulfilled, with an initial validity up to October 22.
However, district prohibition and excise officers reported that some selected applicants were facing difficulties in securing suitable premises to set up liquor retail outlets and in obtaining a regular licence under Rule 14 within the timeframe specified in their provisional licence. Consequently, they requested an extension of the provisional licence period to October 31, which has now been granted.
