Tirupati: A family from Pune caught everyone's attention in Lord Venkateswara’s temple in Tirumala on Friday. The family of businessman and Bollywood financier, Sunny Nana Saheb Waghchoure, arrived wearing approximately 25 kilograms of gold jewellery.
Fellow devotees were amazed by the sight. The family's gold ornaments are said to be worth about Rs 15 crore. Two family members, including Sunny, wore 10 kilograms of gold each, while another wore 5 kilograms. The golden-clad pilgrims took part in a special VIP break darshan.
Outside the temple, many people took selfies with Sunny and his family. A team of 15 security guards accompanied them. A video of the family's visit has gone viral on social media, sparking discussions about faith, wealth, and how people show their devotion.
This visit is part of a new trend. Wealthy devotees, sometimes called 'Gold Men,' have been visiting Tirumala wearing lots of gold. Similar sightings have happened with visitors from Hyderabad and other places.
