Rahul Gandhi greets Andhra Pradesh, Narendra Modi silent on Formation Day
Hyderabad: On November 1st, which marks the Foundation Day for several Indian states, political leaders extended their greetings in various ways. Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress leader and the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, took the initiative to personally greet the people of Andhra Pradesh, among other states celebrating their formation day.
Contrastingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also acknowledged the Foundation Day celebrations but did so selectively, addressing Karnataka in Kannada, Kerala in Malayalam, and Chhattisgarh in Hindi. He extended his wishes to Haryana and Madhya Pradesh as well. Notably, there was an absence of any greeting or mention from the Prime Minister towards Andhra Pradesh, which was also celebrating its Foundation Day on the same date.
