Ram Mohan Naidu Calls Srikakulam a ‘District of Opportunities’

Later, he inaugurated a BT road connecting Madanapuram junction in Burja mandal to Allena village.

Visakhataptnam: Union minister for civil aviation Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on Friday described Srikakulam as a “district of opportunities”, asserting that improved infrastructure and connectivity would accelerate growth and transform the region into a major development hub.

Touring the Amadalavalasa constituency along with Amadalavalasa MLA and State PUC chairman Kuna Ravikumar, the minister said the coalition government was focused on creating wealth through development rather than merely distributing funds. He began the visit by offering special prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Vanjagi on the occasion of the temple’s 15th anniversary celebrations.

At Jaggusastrulapeta in Amadalavalasa Municipality, Ram Mohan Naidu laid the foundation stone for a 33/11-KV substation being constructed at a cost of Rs 3.82 crore. Later, he inaugurated a BT road connecting Madanapuram junction in Burja mandal to Allena village. The 3.5-km road, built under NREGS at a cost of ₹6 crore, was completed within six months and has reduced travel distance by nearly 20 km, fulfilling a long-pending demand of local residents.

Addressing a public meeting, the minister said enhanced road connectivity would improve economic activity and increase land values in the region. He assured further infrastructure development in Burja mandal and said nearly 400 km of roads had already been laid across the constituency. He also promised to sanction a community hall, electrical lines and a bus shelter through MPLADS funds.

Ram Mohan Naidu said villages across Andhra Pradesh were witnessing rapid progress with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Criticising previous governments, he alleged that they had made unrealistic promises without delivering meaningful development.

Highlighting the implementation of the “Super Six” welfare schemes, including pensions, free LPG cylinders, free bus travel and the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, the minister said the government was simultaneously focusing on welfare and development.

MLA Kuna Ravikumar reiterated the government’s commitment to rural development and promised improvements in roads, drinking water supply, electricity, education and healthcare facilities. The programme witnessed participation from officials, public representatives and a large number of local residents.
