Kakinada: Kakinada Municipal Corporation Commissioner J. Venkata Rao directed the traders and domestic householders to remove slabs and cement stones on the drainages for the free flow of the sewage.
He inspected the drainage desilting works at Gandhinagar and Cheedeelapora areas here on Saturday. He said that due to covering of drainages with slabs and cement stones resulting in stagnation of sewage during the rainy season causing huge inconvenience to the people.
He told the traders to remove the cement stones on the drainages otherwise the KMC would remove it and collect the expenses from the persons concerned. He instructed officials to complete the desiltation works and clean the drainages for flowing of the drainage water freely without hurdles.
He said that the officials should take steps not to stagnate the water in the drains or the streets.
