RERA Applications to Be Cleared by Jan. end: Narayana
Vijayawada: Municipal administration minister P. Narayana has vowed to clear all the pending applications with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) by the end of January. The minister initiated a special drive to clear the pending applications. As part of it, the minister has accepted the representations from the people, including builders and developers, on their pending applications here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that as many as 167 applications with RERA have been pending for different reasons, and 30 people arrived here to get their issues resolved.
The minister said the RERA was introduced to protect people from getting duped by fake property sales and added that the state government had examined different modalities being implemented in other states. Referring to the alleged troubles faced by the buildings constructed during the previous government in the state, the minister announced that they were trying to relax the norms to get permissions and called upon the builders to comply with the norms. He informed that new guidelines on the construction of buildings under the Act would be released on January 9.
